In the middle of the week my co-teacher, her son and I went to this maple tree illumination. Only a few of the trees had turned color, up until the last week or two it's been a very warm fall, but it was a nice evening and we got a lot of exercise walking up the little mountain. Also some good food!

I've never seen anything like this old cotton candy machine. You put in $1 and open it's 'tummy'. Then with a wooden chopstick you swirl the cotton candy as it's made!
Grilled whole fish on a stick. Not your typical American festival food.
Nor is this. Sticky rice on a stick, grilled with a miso, walnut, sesame seed sauce.
Evidently on weekends and even some evenings when the trees are really colorful there is usually a
2 -3 hour traffic jam on the little road that leads to this park. Can't imagine anything being nice enough to sit through that!
